"Laura: How would you describe your music-making process? Blood of Angels: Most of the time the skeleton of the songs begin with the guitar. Then we work out the details, arrangements, and implement everyone's ideas in rehearsal. Then Randy takes the music and writes his lyrics to the song. There are some songs that begin with the lyrics and we build the music around it.
The lyric video was done by Rehman Panhwer. The song “Spillage” was written by Blood of Angels. It was engineered and produced by Preston DiCarlo at Master Audio Works in Tampa, Florida. It was released through Biohazardous Records October 31, 2022.
“WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR LATEST SINGLE? The concept for our upcoming album is songs about different rituals of death and mourning. ‘Spillage’ came about when our vocalist saw a dead possum in his yard. That made him think of the end of life that we all experience.”
“La melodic death metal americana Blood of Angels ha pubblicato il nuovo singolo ”Spillage". Potete ascoltarlo qui."
“What was the most fulfilling and satisfying moment so far? There have been many. I think the most was winning the Best Hardcore/Metal Song award at the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards in New York City. That really showed me that we had something special. It really surprised me to win because they were so many awesome submissions. Then to go back to the last question. Everyone quit a few months later, and I had to replace the whole lineup.”
“MM: Where do you draw your inspirations and ideas from We like to do concept albums and tell stories with our music. Our last album the “Failure of Faith” is a concept album regarding the three main monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The first half of the album explores the beginning and origin of these three faiths. The second half of the album goes into how these three religions have manipulated humanity into committing atrocities against one another in the name of gods that don’t exist.”
“Il loro EP "Rise of the Fallen Gods" (2017) ha ottenuto un ampio successo di critica e ha vinto numerosi premi musicali indipendenti. Blood of Angels è stato premiato come "Miglior canzone metal/hardcore" al 16° Annual Independent Music Awards. a vincere "Best Metal Song", "Best Metal EP" e "Best Metal Video per gli Akademia Awards di agosto 2017. Per finire, sono stati nominati "Metal Band of the Year" alla 5th Annual International Music and Entertainment Premi.”
“Their success stems from their ability and bravery to step away from the pressures and expectations of metal music, allowing them to dictate their own identity, visions, and creativity. The goal for Blood of Angles? To play for as many people as they can, informing, motivating, and enlightening them, as well as creating masterpiece albums that match their artistic vision.”
“Inspired by the burgeoning local metal scene of Tampa, Florida, Blood of Angels are making their mark on the genre that has guided them through the darkest of times. With local town heroes such as Cannibal Corpse and Nasty Savage inspiring down that path, Blood of Angels blend death, black, thrash and lashings of power metal into a high-octane frenzy. Above all, the band combines their musical prowess and instrumental talents to make social commentary on public mistruths and the atrocities committed against humanity.”
“BLOOD OF ANGELS: Spillage Biohazardous Records-Digital Single From Tampa, Florida comes the melodic death metal BLOOD OF ANGELS. But they also throw in some black, thrash and power metal to their brew. The result is a powerful attack, which includes both heaviness and energy. A totally o.k. song. Why they call it melodic death metal is a mystery though, because this song is not so melodic according to me. This song came about through a very odd and funny way. There is a DJ in Chicago who has been playing the band's music. She told the members that a band in Chicago named SPILLAGE wrote a song called ”Blood of Angels". So she suggested that BLOOD OF ANGELS up to Chicago in the future to play a show together with SPILLAGE. The band fromed in the fall of 2015, and will spend 2023 recording a new album. bloodofangels.net"
“We begin the song writing process mostly off my guitar. I come up with the original concept of the song, then with Jonathan and Maggots input we put the finishing touches on the music. This coming album, Randy will be doing most of the heavy lifting on the lyrics. We have done concept albums. Our last . Our last album ”Failure of Faith" was a concept album based on the three main Monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The first half of the album discusses how these three faiths came into being. The second half of the album are songs about how these three religions have manipulated humanity to commit atrocities in god's name. Our upcoming album will be dealing with different ways how various cultures mourn loss and death."

“Guitarist Aaron Robinson comments: ”The song came about through a very unique and funny way. There is a DJ in Chicago who has been playing our music. Their plan was to bring Blood Of Angels up to Chicago in the future to play a show together with Spillage."
“METAL ANARCHY: Tell me a little about your band: BLOOD OF ANGELS: We are Blood of Angels. We began in 2015, and our first release was the EP ”Rise of the Fallen Gods" in 2017. Our single “Odin's Wrath” won a few independent music awards. Most notably was the Best Metal/Hardcore Song at the 16th Annual Music awards in NYC. We got signed and released our full-length album “Failure of Faith.” With that album we toured throughout the US with Jungle Rot, The Convalescence, and Reflections of Flesh. We have also released covers “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” for a Black Sabbath compilation, and “Teach Them How to Sing The Blues” for a Motorhead compilation. Recently we released a new original single titled “Spillage,” and currently we are writing our next album that will be released through our new label Biohazardous Records."
2. Why did you want to play this genre? Metal music has been a part of my life as early as I can remember. My father is a fan of the early metal bands such as Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Led Zeppelin etc. As metal got heavier, so did my taste. I was also inspired by my local scene. Growing up in Tampa, Florida I was surrounded by legendary death metal bands in the beginning of their careers. Bands like Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Morbid Angel, and Death were having success from my hometown. I was a fan of these bands growing up. I am still a fan today.”
- Screamer, Breathing the Core (Nov 15, 2022)
“Where are you based out of and how did that influence your music? We are based in Tampa, Florida USA. It is the city where death metal was founded. We have many great death metal bands that have inspired us such as Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, and Obituary. Seeing their success has inspired us to reach for our own success.”

- Pappy Jeff, Pappy Jeff Metal (Nov 01, 2022)
“PD: What do you think about downloading music online? BOA: It is here to stay. There definitely needs to be reform in the music streaming model. But reform won’t happen until the industry starts to lose money again. The music business is booming. For the musician, it is only booming for a small amount of artist. What bands such as us are only lucky enough to break even.”
- Pete, Pete's Rock News and Views (Oct 27, 2022)
“5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works? So far, we have released an EP “Rise of the Falling Gods” and LP “Failure of Faith”. We have also released a metal hip-hop collaboration single with rapper Amiss Omega titled “United Freedom”. We have also released a single of our cover of Black Sabbath’s “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.” That has done well for us. On Halloween, we will be releasing our new original single titled “Spillage.””

“Aaron, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally. My grandfather was a classical/jazz pianist. I always enjoyed hearing him practice. From the time I was five, I used to sit by my grandfather on the piano bench listening to him play. He noticed my early appreciation for music and started giving me basic ear training. He would hit a note, then ask me what it was. When I showed progress with the basic A through G notes. My grandfather added sharps and flats.”

“Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect? Overall, it has been as smooth road compared to my other musical endeavors. We have learned a lot from the mistakes we have made in the past. Those mistakes were valuable lessons that we haven’t repeated with Blood of Angels. Fortunately, it has been a smooth road with only minor bumps that were easily overcome.”
“A Tampa-i melo-death metalos Blood Of Angels nemrégiben mutatta be új szöveges videóját, melyen a Black Sabbath klasszikus dalát, a Sabbath Bloody Sabbath játsszák.

- From the Depths Entertainment (Feb 17, 2021)
“When you started work on “Failure of Faith”, how did you intend to do so in a way that was unique to Blood Of Angels and different from other bands’ observations on religion? Most metal bands discuss religion and use the forbidden idea of Satanism for shock value. Some of the bands in the Norwegian black metal bands do have a lot of conviction of their satanic beliefs. Religion with us is not used to shock, but as attempt to ask questions and get the audience to objectively think about faith, and whether faith is a good thing. We approached the subject through an academic angle. Objectively looking at religion and seeing if the stories match the known history.”

“King Of Hops - Gritty shredding chords are flowing out to meet us, they have a thunderous snare snap that has cymbal crashes that roll out the whole piece into a pounding killer chorded monster, the gritty riffs are moving forward and have a growling rasp for company as the bass line moves in and dishes out pure meaty dark groove chords that fit so well into the arrangement, the solo flies in and is a power driven chorded beast with a hook and monster pick up's with a real deep feeling to them, this is a real pounding gritty riffed musical masterpiece.”
- Darren McIntyre, Jace Media UK (Oct 06, 2020)

- Breathing the Core (Sep 28, 2020)
“The album cover is a visual representation of what the songs are about. The skeletal hand represents the hand of the Reaper. As it is symbolically bringing the three main destructive religions to their end as humanity evolves. The reason why the symbols are on dog tags, represents that these faiths have been at war with each other since their inceptions. They are not ideologies of peace, but ideologies of power. Fighting to the death, and manipulating the masses into believing that their faith is the only correct faith of the one true god. In the background are images of the Temple Mount, Mecca, and the Vatican. The earthly self-declared holy grounds of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.”
- Breathing the Core (Sep 28, 2020)
“6. King of Hops: The title comes from the nickname given to Martin Luther when he was in seminary school, because of his love for beer. The song outlines the revolutionary changes that Martin Luther did within Christianity set with off time and syncopated metal rhythms. 7. Disaster of Supremacy: This song that brings forth brutality and speed elements of Blood Of Angels sound, while singing about how societal ideas of supremacy in any form brings for the end of stabilized civilization. By linking racial and religious supremacist’s ideology have the same dangerous end. 8. Don’t Need (Religion): Our tribute to the great Motorhead and Lemmy Kilmister. “Don’t Need (Religion)” was originally recorded on the “Iron Fist” album. We wanted to do a Motorhead song, and this song is perfect to summarize the album.”

“A missão do Blood of Angels é se afastar das pressões e expectativas do metal, permitindo que eles ditem sua própria identidade, visão e criatividade. O objetivo final para Blood of Angels? Tocar para o maior número de pessoas que puderem, informando, motivando e iluminando-as, além de criar álbuns de obras-primas que correspondem à sua visão artística.”
- Maria Correia, Metal Nopapel (Sep 26, 2020)
“The title track, Failure Of Faith, is an instrumental track to start off the album setting the mood for the mayhem to come. Monotheism is the beginning of the concept of a singular God during the time of ancient Egypt, and how that concept has fanaticized followers to a concept of superiority over other faiths in the ancient world through the middle ages. The music is a driving blend of black metal and groove metal riffs. 40 Year Journey goes into the development of Judaism from Exodus to the creation of modern-day Israel, as well as how an oppressed people throughout history has become the oppressor. Blood Of The Lamb continues the journey into the development of the three main religions by bringing this account of Christianity based on historical facts and not the bible. Questioning the validity and claims of the “messiah” and the creation of a power-hungry organizations based a blend of ancient used to alter history, put to a backdrop of death metal furry.”

- Michael ´Schumi´ Schumacher, Legacy Magazine

“Inspired by the burgeoning local metal scene of Tampa, Florida, Blood of Angels are making their mark on the genre that has guided them through the darkest of times. With local town heroes such as Cannibal Corpse and Nasty Savage inspiring down that path, Blood Of Angels blend death, black, thrash and lashings of power metal into a high-octane frenzy. Above all, the band combines their musical prowess and instrumental talents to make social commentary on public mistruths and the atrocities committed against humanity.”
- The Metal Gods Meltdown (Sep 23, 2020)
“Blood of Angels' mission is to step away from the pressures and expectations of metal music, allowing them to dictate their own identity, visions and creativity. The ultimate goal for Blood of Angels? To play for as many people as they can, informing, motivating and enlightening them, as well as creating masterpiece albums that match their artistic vision.”
“All that experience has come together with Blood Of Angels newest release Failure Of Faith. Failure Of Faith is a concept album that explores the evolution of the three main global religions of the world. The first half of the album looks at the development of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. How those three religions began to carve up and dominate the world. The second half of the album shows how those three faiths have led humanity down a path of division and self-destruction.”
- Edvardsen, Arctic Metal (Sep 22, 2020)
“Well, it seems I may have actually found a new favorite band by writing this review. I always love the music I write about. Once in a while I will even listen to it again after my article. “Failure of Faith” is getting added to my daily playlist. I love concept albums, and this one delved into one of my favorite subjects in nonfiction literature. Absolutely check this album out! If the intro doesn’t make you fall in love, I’m not sure what to tell you. It is rare to see such a put together band. That, to me, is the difference between a band who has potential to make it to the top. So, take us there, BLOOD OF ANGELS. I'm along for the ride now.”
- Laura Glover, Metal Temple Magazine (Sep 08, 2020)

- Jason Hesley, Toxic Metal Zine (Aug 04, 2020)
“How the global coronavirus pandemic is directly impacting bands? Mostly cancelled shows but playing live for a band is more than just getting on stage. Touring is the best form of promotion for a band. After a show, a band can not only sell merchandise. There is usually a bump in that market for streaming, physical music sales, online merchandise sale, etc.… Not being on stage has a lot of effects.”
- Ivona Bogner, Metal Jacket Magazine (Jul 09, 2020)
“Blood of Angel's immediately brings it with tracks like "Failure of Faith" "Monotheism" "Blood of the Lamb" and "Disaster of Supremacy" providing an intense dropped tuned sound that can overwhelm an average listener.. Very fast drumming with powerful riffs to accompany it.. Vocals are deep as hell and growled with serious lyrics.. the lyrics are on the darkest sides of religion you can imagine.. Their sound can range from Eerie and creepy to extremely heavy and explosive.. which is most of the time.. The new music was produced very well, mixed and mastered good too..”

“In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Blood Of Angels and if you are a fan of melodic black, death, thrash and groove metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Monotheism" "Blood Of The Lamb" "Crusader" and "America's Mythologies". 8 out of 10.”
- A Different Shade of Black Metal (Jul 10, 2020)
“If you could bring one rock star back from the dead, who would it be? That is a tough question. Besides Randy Rhodes, probably Jim Morrison. He really understood philosophy and I am sure the conversations we would have would be trans-formative. I would be interested in what he would say about the current situation.”
“If you could play any festival in the world, which would you choose and why? Wacken of course. It is the granddaddy of them all. I don’t think there is any metal festival that is bigger. Any band worth anything in metal has played there.”
“Ok lets lighten up a bit. What is your favorite band of all time and why? Iron Maiden, because everything about them is as close to perfect as it can be. The songs are great, they have fantastic original art work. One of the most recognized mascots in the world. Their stage show is unmatched.”
- Wes Jaquez, The Grinder (May 04, 2019)
“What do you personally consider to be the incisive moments and pieces in your musical work? I like to think they’re a lot of incisive moments. Within the lyrics, our last release explored Norse Mythology and created a three part story. Our next album titled “The Failure of Faith” will be exploring the history and effect of the major three monotheistic religions. Within the music, I explore many different rhythmic textures. Our songs have various tempo and time signature changes. I try not to limit the music to just one sub-genre of metal. I try to incorporate many styles into one cohesive sound. That is the goal at least.”
- Sick and Destroy (Apr 09, 2019)
“In what ways did you compare what you read in the Bible, Quran and Torah with what you read in Hawking and Trehame’s books while researching and writing the lyrics? There really isn't any comparison. They're cover different things. For every "holy" book I read, I also read a book that challenge the "holy" books. I have found that science and historians can support their conclusions with proof. Whereas religion just goes by the premise of just trust and believe without concrete fact to back up their word. The faiths have always had to adjust their beliefs to match scientific and historical discoveries. Science has never needed to change based on religious dogma.”

“Miscreant Deeds of Loki” is a kickass tune that incorporates a lot of imagery in the video of battle scenes both of death and glory, Viking images and some images of the band. If you are familiar with the Norse mythology of Loki, you will recall him as a trickster god. Loki is known to be playful, malicious and nihilistic...hmm, sounds like many of our world leaders. At any rate, the vocals are devilishly heavy, the riffs lick you sweetly like a serpent's tongue and feverishly fast drumming that is more in the vein of an almost warlike summons. Blood of Angels have certainly captured my attention and I look forward to more.”
- Allyson Kingsley, Boston Rock Radio (Jan 24, 2019)

“BLAKE: What was the inspiration behind your radio single? BLOOD OF ANGELS: Musically I was inspired by blending progressive, death, and black metal riffs. I wanted to combine different genres together. In a lot of ways, I feel I have succeeded at it. Lyrically the track is the second part in a three-part story. It is about the Norse God Odin’s control over Valhalla and the realm of the gods.”
“DK: You’ve already got so much of ‘the right stuff’ for the bigger leagues, and you know full well how the demands can be, but it sounds like you were made to rise above any challenge and meet them head on. I am truly impressed by the way your work ethic is with the band, not many possess that drive and determination. The song, ‘Final War’ recently charted to #3 on radio, how does that make you feel to be recognized like that? AR: Fantastic! I love the fact that people are listening, and program directors are loving the sound. Crafting the sound has taken many years. A lot of trial and error. I am almost close to what I wanted to achieve musically.”
- Dennis Kelly, Chicago Music Guide (Jul 29, 2018)
“BLAKE: What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What do you find most challenging? BLOOD OF ANGELS: The economic side is the most challenging side of the music business. Finding the money to be able to fund recordings, videos, marketing, and touring is difficult. It isn’t impossible, just takes some hard work and sacrifice to achieve. Playing in front of a people is the most rewarding. When you have a good show, there is nothing better than to interact with the audience.”

“These guys most definitely have their shit together! Their new EP is a slamming, head crushing death metal treat. They hit all the death metal nails on the head but go so much further than that. They have a killer progressive and thrash sound that is incorporated nicely into their barrage of brutality. In today’s death metal scene so many of the bands swap players so often a lot of the stuff tends to sound the same and gets a little stale. Not here my friends. Blood of Angels bring a killer refreshing dose of pure death. With the dominate evil Viking type vocals and the lyrics and song titles to go with that like “Miscreant Deeds of Loki” (miscreant deeds just sounds so metal!), “Odin’s Wrath” and “Final War” you can get the jest of what these guys are into. I can see them touring right alongside of Amon Amarth. While this is only a three song EP it gives us a taste of the awesome things to come from these guys.”

“It is early in the afternoon and I was sent ''RISE OF THE FALLEN GODS'' by BLOOD OF ANGELS. This is a short three track EP, but I promise it will not steer you in the wrong direction if you are a fan of death-metal. There are also hints of black-metal and power-metal, so fans of those sub-genres might also take a liking to this. The three tracks are titled MISCREANT DEEDS OF LOKI, ODIN'S WRATH and FINAL WAR. As you could probably tell, these tracks are based on Norse mythology, which is pretty cool. Your standard death-metal with a twist, I would say. Blasting drums, brutal gutturals and violent yet melodic guitar work. You know how this game works. ''Metal that will melt your ears'' hailing from Florida. Give these guys a listen, they deserve it. -Devin Joseph Meaney”

““We first became acquainted with the death metal wizardry of guitarist AARON ROBINSON through his old band FORESHADOW. We had our money on the belief that this band was going to be a lethal force in the field of death metal but sometimes, the best laid plans can come undone. FORESHADOW came to an unceremonious end a couple of years ago, but ROBINSON hasn't given up the ghost. Instead he grew more ambitious and formed BLOOD OF ANGELS and has resolved to take the urgency of death metal into the glorious realm of progressive rock. The public has been given a hint of the band's musical horizon with the EP RISE OF THE FALLEN GODS and it's epic first single ODIN' WRATH. ROBINSON's lethal ax-wielding is at the center of all off this and it will be fascinating to see where it all goes from here.””

ROBINSON's lethal ax-wielding is at the center of all off this and it will be fascinating to see where it all goes from here.”

“'A raging, high-concept symbolic vid scored by an amp-melting metal track, 'Odin's Wrath' aptly advertises the multifarious ingenuities of Blood Of Angels; scary and amusing too.'”
- Akademia Awards (Aug 18, 2017)
“'Odin's Wrath' could be construed as the literal truth where this song is concerned; the instrumental skill required to execute this song almost surpasses human skill.'”
- Akademia Awards (Aug 18, 2017)

“Florida's Blood of Angels churn out an explosive-yet-memorable brand of debut melodic death metal EP, laced with catchy riffs that will have listeners' head moving from the get-go. The EP was released a few months ago. The coverage and positive reviews from metal media platforms reflect that the band is becoming a force to be reckoned with. "Odin's Wrath", the second track from the EP has been nominated as the Best Metal/Hardcore Songs for the Independent Music Awards.”

“All in all I’m happy with the result of this Floridian band. They showed diversity in their music, proving not to be generic but being open to a wide variety of sounds. I’m just hoping they continue this open minded view because I find the change is what makes this album interesting.”
- Gary Godwin, Gimm Gent (Aug 04, 2017)
“Al met al een korte, niet heel krachtige ep die vooral mee probeert te liften op het succes van Amon Amarth en aanverwanten. Er staan wel wat leuke momenten op dit debuut, maar dat wordt eigenlijk weer teniet gedaan door het gebrek aan een eigen smoelwerk. Als je diehard fan bent van bovengenoemde Zweden, kun je deze ep ongetwijfeld waarderen. Zo niet, dan zou ik hem lekker laten liggen. “What is the greatest challenge you face in today’s entertainment business? How do you overcome them? The biggest challenge that we face is the ability to get on the road to promote our release. Opening bands don’t seem to get paid anymore, instead it is required that support acts have a large sum of funds to get on a good tour with little chance of breaking even. I plan on overcoming this hurdle by focusing on playing festivals where there is a chance to play in front of thousands at one time, instead of a few hundred per tour over a long period of time.”
- David Mitchell, Skilly Magazine (Jul 17, 2017)
“With a knack for music, Blood of Angels is building a repertoire for themselves in the industry. Boasting a pioneering sound along with a dynamic stage presence, this artists’ music is turning eyes and ears. This is one group that you’ll want to keep up with and follow. High impact moves are being made by Blood of Angels, and it won’t be long before they’re a household name. Re-writing the rules and pushing boundaries, Blood of Angels are set to up the ante with their imminent album release Rise of the Fallen Gods. Based out of Florida, the four-piece band is combining full on death metal attack with black metal sensibilities with flourishes of melody. The band is composed of Aaron Robinson (guitar), Michael Stewart (bass), Chris Iibucha (vocals), and Kevin Phillips (drums). When together, the band rolls their collective experience from previous acts into a potent powerhouse of metal.”
- Mark Reid, RB Lifestyle Magazine (Jul 01, 2017)
“On the first song ''Miscreant Deeds of Loki'', they show a more technical side. It has some nice guitar work and was much more complex that a lot of bands I have been hearing these days. It has some nice rhythm changes and some really solid drumming. That drumming is brutal and relentless, props to Kevin Phillips who does a magnificent job throughout the EP. On ''Odin's Wrath'', they add some New Wave of British Heavy Metal sounds at the beginning. I felt like I was listening to old school JUDAS PRIEST, in the "Painkiller" era. I really enjoyed this and I was not expecting this at all, then the songs turns more like a prototypical Death Metal song. The opening itself really made me love this song even more. The last song of the EP is a pretty standard Death Metal song, it doesn't reinvent the wheel but it sure does get your blood boiling. It's energetic, frantic and full of awesome riffs and intense drumming.”

“Like any band that is on the same page musically, Aaron Robinson (guitar), Michael Stewart (bass), Chris Iibucha (vocals) and Kevin Phillips (drums) have rolled together their collective experience from previous acts into a cold, clinical, yet passionate sound that will be unveiled on their debut EP “Rise of the Fallen Gods.” With hints of Dark Tranquility and Amon Amarth among other bands making up the palette of their sound, and a slick production to accentuate the pummeling drive of the music, the band is preparing to release on the 21st of April.”

“Базираната във Флорида Melodic Death Metal банда BLOOD OF ANGELS издаде дебютното си ЕP, озаглавено „Rise of the Fallen Gods“, на 21 април 2017 г. чрез лейбъла Hollywood Collective. Blood of Angels - Rise of the Fallen Gods BLOOD OF ANGELS – RISE OF THE FALLEN GODS „Rise of the Fallen Gods“ представлява музикална трилогия, стъпила върху легендите на скандинавската митология. “Do you like Amon Amarth but want the songs about smashing someone’s head open to sound like someone’s head was actually being smashed open? Well, then Rise of the Fallen Gods by Florida’s Blood of Angels is for you. The 3-song EP only clocks in at about 12 minutes, but it packs enough punch to make you go, “Ow, my jaw!” It’s forceful, vicious Melodic Death Metal for those that like to pillage and plunder… or at least those that like to watch pillaging and plundering on the History Channel. Angry growls, blazing guitars, unforgiving drums. Yup, they’re all here and with a dash of viking lore to keep things interesting. —365.”
- 365, Toilet ov Hell (May 11, 2017)

Fur eine Melo Death-Band gehen Blood of Angels also sehr rabiat vor. Chore, Klargesang, Keyboards, oder Orchesterinstrumente sind nicht im Ansatz eingebunden. Ein wenig mehr spurt man die lokalen Wurzein, nicht nur im gutturalen Grummein einige Kilometer weiter in Tampa pulsierte schlieBlich vor 25 Jahren das Herz des US-Death Metal mit Ikonen wie Obituary, Morbid Angel, Nocturnus, Deicide.”

“In conclusion: The four guys really produced a great EP, with three awesome tracks and the only pity being that it’s actually too short. “Rise Of The Fallen Gods” comes highly recommended, and Blood of Angels is surely a band to keep an eye out for. 10/10.”

“You are a fairly new band, as you have formed only last year. How did you guys meet up? After the demise of Foreshadow, I still had some music ideas that I wanted to do. First I contacted Andrew from Denied Til Death to do vocals for Blood of Angels. Through Andrew I spoke with Kevin (Denied Til Death drummer) and he was interested, and we started to rehearse together. Andrew wouldn’t be able to do the project, so I contacted a friend of mine whose boyfriend is a vocalist. He sent me a demo of an Amon Amarth track, and it sounded good. That’s when I brought Chris in the mix. Michael was my tour manager in the past, and we were talking about the project. He was on a break from Motograter. I was excited when he agreed to play bass on the EP.”
- Julia Obenauer, Dutch Metal Maniac (Apr 04, 2017)
“With ‘Rise Of The Fallen Gods‘, Jacksonville’s Blood Of Angels sets the bar high and never disappoints on any level. This is beefy, pounding Death Metal crafted by, and for, those that live to partake of such. Clearly, this band intends to keep the legacy of Florida’s Death Metal origins alive, undead and thriving!”
- Pat Riot, Riff Relevant (Mar 29, 2017)
“Floridian Melodic Death Metal four piece Blood Of Angels are a relatively new band but their members have experience with such bands as Foreshadow, Denied Til Death & Leprosy, this is their debut EP due for release on the 21st April. The band have combined their collective experience from previous bands to bring you a brand of Melodic Death Metal similar to such luminaries as Dark Tranquility & Amon Amarth, much like one of the aforementioned bands Blood Of Angels offer a predominately Viking themed lyrics. The music itself is very cold & clinical yet has abundance of passion with razor sharp solos, pummelling drum fills and a refreshingly clean production. Of The three tracks on offer Odins Wrath is the highlight of this release, that's not to say Miscreant Deeds Of Loki & The Final War won't grab your attention as well, as a whole the EP has plenty of quality for the listener to get invested in.”
- Adrian Williams, Metal and Carnage (Mar 28, 2017)
“The sunny city of Florida has spawned many big metal bands during the ages so it’s always fun to get a promo with a new band that comes from there. Blood of Angels features current and former members of Motograter, Foreshadow, Denied Til Death, and Leprosy with Rise of the Fallen Gods being the bands debut. The four-piece combines the American death metal sound from Six Feet Under with the Viking-themed lyrics and melodic touches a la Amon Amarth. Add a bit of Dark Tranquility and Dying Fetus influences in the mix and you got yourself a viking ship set to raid the east coast fast and vicious. The EP is 11 minutes long and features three tracks, Miscreant Deeds of Loki, Odin’s Wrath and The Final War. I find the album growing on me with each track and as Chris Iibucha does a superb job sounding like Chris Barnes (Six Feet Under) I get almost overwhelmed with the flurry of riffs Aaron Robinson (guitar), Michael Stewart (bass) lashes out.”
- The Metal Gamer Blog (Mar 26, 2017)
“This super-short EP, clocking in at just 12 minutes is a fine introduction to Blood of Angels brand of melodic death metal. Rise of the Fallen Gods is filled with catchy riffs & hooks starting with Miscreant Deeds of Loki. A little bit ‘by the numbers’ death metal at first, it’s the crunching drums & exciting guitar solo that steps it up a notch. A short, punchy start that builds excitement for what follows. Thankfully Odin’s Wrath continues the quality with some great riffing while the final track, The Final War excels with its catchy beat. If Rise of the Fallen Gods is letdown anywhere it’s with the generic sounding vocals. The gruff, throaty style is hardly worth getting excited for even if it fits the music perfectly fine. It does take a backseat a lot of the time, disappearing for periods to allow the music to shine. It’s a good, almost great debut EP from Blood of Angels & they’re definitely a band to keep a close eye on.”

“Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days? Currently, we are focused on promoting and getting the word out for our upcoming EP release “Rise of the Fallen Gods.” I have also began writing a song for a side project I plan on releasing later this year. I have also been writing new songs for the next Blood of Angels release which will be a full album. 2.You have an upcoming out in the springtime, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording? I would describe the musical sound as being heavily influenced by the Swedish melodic death metal bands. I have been a fan of that sound since I first heard it back in 95’ when I went to Sweden for the first time. I heard bands like At the Gates, Dark Tranquility, and In Flames. I couldn’t understand why these bands weren’t dominating the metal scene around the world.”

Vai tocar rápido assim no infer..., digo, céu!”
- Tarcísio Chagas, Metal Na Lata (Mar 03, 2017)
“In my opinion Blood Of Angels are a very great sounding melodic mixture of black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Odin's Wrath". 8 out of 10.”

“Well now you've got a new band with a new EP. How are you feeling about the new enterprise and its new release? I'm liking it. I'm loving it actually. Behind the scenes this band does things very differently. It's pretty much my project. I've got full control over it and it's not so much of a collaboration. I'm working with studio professionals. They do their job really well. I really like this new direction. Viking metal has been tackled before, but I wanted to put my two cents into it with this EP.”
- Brian Lush, Rockwired Magazine (Mar 01, 2017)
“Guitarist AARON ROBINSON has been a committed pro for years within the metal scene in Jacksonville, Florida and has even boasted a few miles and years of touring with this band and that band. ROCKWIRED first became aware of the man through his work in the band FORESHADOW but sadly that band came to an unceremonious end just when we thought that those guys were on to something. Keeping a band going is one of the hardest things to do but ROBINSON wasn't going to let the process intimidate him the next time around. As the primary songwriter and founder of his newest band BLOOD OF ANGELS, ROBINSON prides himself on his new musical vision, and armed with a band comprised of some rather commited pros, there is apparently no end in sight for these extreme metal torchbearers. ODIN'S WRATH - the first single from the band's new EP RISE OF THE FALLEN GODS - is the perfect introduction to BLOOD OF ANGELS and the band does it up right with a video produced by CHROMA VISUAL ARTS.”
- Brian Lush, Rockwired Magazine (Feb 17, 2017)
“What a difference three years and a couple of STAR WARS movies makes! Back in 2014 We first became acquainted with guitarist AARON ROBINSON when his band FORESHADOW was promoting their album STRANGER END OF DEATH. That band's take on death metal and old school thrash stood out by a mile or two from much of what gets called metal these days. At the very beginning of the promotion of their new album activity from the band seemed to lag and all of a sudden there was no FORESHADOW. From there AARON ROBINSON took it upon himself to become a little more ambitious with his music and find musicians who were committed to making the words and the motes on the page come to life and the resulting band is BLOOD OF ANGELS - a project that is determined to make heavy metal music and epic thing once again. We can hear and practically see the formation of something big on the band's debut EP RISE OF THE FALLEN GODS and the first single ODIN'S WRATH gives the band that glorious introduction.”

“Hailing from one of the epicentres of extreme Metal, BLOOD OF ANGELS are set to up the ante with their imminent release “Rise Of The Fallen Gods”. This Floridian four-piece combines a vicious Death Metal attack with the atmosphere of Black Metal, all with flourishes of melody and Viking-themed lyrics. Check “Odin’s Wrath” streaming below. Featuring experienced musicians of the Jacksonville scene, the project combines the talents of current and former members of MOTORGRATER, FORESHADOW, DENINED TIL DEATH, and LEPROSY. Like any band that is on the same page musically, Aaron Robinson (guitar), Michael Stewart (bass), Chris Iibucha (vocals) and Kevin Phillips (drums) have rolled together their collective experience from previous acts into a cold, clinical, yet passionate sound that will be unveiled on their debut EP “Rise Of The Fallen Gods”. With hints of DARK TRANQUILITY and AMON AMARTH.”

“Blood of Angels offer plenty of high speed fun in their newest release, "Rise of the Fallen Gods." The death metal act pulverize with constant pounds of drums, gnawing guitars, and a overall flurry of instrumental patterns. Opening track "Miscreant Deeds of Loki" almost never has a moment to breath.with how aggressive the band are, and it kicks heavy right out of the gate. "Rise of the Fallen Gods" is high quality, and highly impressive but a bit dry because their is no real musical offering. Across the EP riffs shred, the solos are interesting, but overall it is a standard release. The songs feel a bit lengthy, but they really are not-it is just the pacing of Blood of Angels. Closing track "Final War" offers a bit more rhythmical identity with a grooving break down in the opening half, and I wish there was more of that. Not to say this music is not fun to blast loud enough for your next door neighbor to hear (especially when channeling your inner most Norse God.)”
